Geek Fam announced that Evil Geniuses' Abed would be subbing in as their position 1 for the ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia. After Geek Fam won their second Tier 2 regional event in a row, both times taking down SEA favorite Fnatic, Fnatic acquired their position 1, Raven. Though it was speculated that they might pick up 23savage in exchange, it seems the organization isn't ready to field a replacement quite yet.

Abed, largely considered one of the best players in the world, has been on quite a long vacation since the beginning of the COVID-19 situation. The only professional game Abed has played since the last BTS LAN, was where he subbed in for TNC, in game 1 of their series versus Fnatic in the group stages of the BTS Pro Series: Southeast Asia. With a 5 month break from professional gaming, we'll finally see the return of Abed August 21st versus Hashtag?.DOTA.
