DPC 20/21 SEASON CHANGES - DOTA 2
2020-02-26      By: DJWilma

Valve has announced the regional format of the next DPC Season for 2020/2021. This regional format includes an Upper Division and Lower Division totting 8 teams each for all 6 regions.

As previously mentioned by Valve, there will only be 3 Majors per season. The majors will have 18 teams from all regions with a USD 500k prizepool and DPC points. Region slots will be fixed with EU and China getting 4, NA and SEA with 3, and CIS and SA with 2.

3 Majors next Season, DEJA VU!

We caught up with Owen "ODPixel" Davies on the changes to the DPC, and though he expressed that there is still much unknown about the implementation of broadcasting changes he had this to say:

"Change is good... it means that Valve is experimenting, which is only ever a good thing. The only downside is maybe less opportunities for teams to play on an international ground, because there is only 3 where on the DPC, rather than all these minors and majors where you get to have all this international competition. So less international, its very much all about the regions," - Owen "ODPixel" Davies
