The final blood shed in the western regions were felt Valentine’s day, as only one European team left could keep their journey alive, earning a spot in the Minor. This would mean not only one but two of the well-respected European teams would have to step out of the spotlight during this round of the DPC.

A roster really putting value back into the dark horse mentality, Team Liquid had been impressing everyone with their consistency throughout the season. In fact, depending on how points are distributed throughout the rest of the season, Team Liquid could already have secured a spot in The International 10. They tied for a shot in the top 2 spots in their group of the previous qualifier but lost the best of 1 against Ninjas in Pyjamas. They started the minor qualifier with a strong 2-0 against Nigma, followed up by a 1-2 loss to Alliance. What followed was two 27 minute games, and the end of Team Liquid’s run in this round of the DPC. The dark horse will return.
